Gary Buckley's
1977 LeMans
Gary Buckley of New Brunswick, Canada has this to say..." I have a 1977 LeMans that i purchased 2 years ago in Prince Edward Island, Canada. I am the 3rd owner. the first owner died at the age of 90 and the car only had 1897 miles on it when he passed away. It was 12 years old then.
the second owner purchased it at an estate sale and was going to run it as a daily car as it didn't look real healthy after sitting in the sun for 12 years. He had to replace the original tires even though there was only 2000 miles on them because of cracks in the side walls. He also had to install a new vinyl top and paint.
He kept the car for 11 years and finally decided to part with it. When I purchased it the interior was hopeless. Everything was sun baked and no new interior parts to be found.
I managed to find an individual who had scraped 5 of these cars and kept every individual part so I had my pick of parts. I removed the bench seat and had a set of buckets redone to perfection.
I managed to find new window sweeps, window rubbers and carpet.
I installed a set of Rallye II wheels and new T/A radial tires to transform it into my "Pride and Joy".
