1977 Grand LeMans

Thank you for taking the time to put this all together. It is really good to know that more than a few of us have a special liking to the GM A-Bodies 73-77 and in particular the LeMans.
I have owned this 77 Grand LeMans since the end of 1995. Prior to the car pictured here I owned a 77 D37 LeMans with the 301 engine and Rally II wheels. This car was actually purchased by my Grandmother when I was 15. Of the 350596 miles on the car at its fatal crash I had driven 95%. It officially became my car in 1982.
A turning point occured in my life on Feb. 3rd 1995. After having recently finishing a complete rebuild of the suspension with the best components available for these cars including a brand new set of 15 x 8 1/2 Centerline Drag wheels and TA radials I crashed in the Colorado Rockies. Fortunately I was physically uninjured but my car was totaled. My sense of invulnerability that young men have was shattered at 33. I was devastated. I had killed "my horse" (its nickname). I really thought at the time I would never have a car that I liked better than that one again.
3 months later I happened to come upon the '77 I have now. It was an absolute miracle the way it all turned out. The car was sitting at a repair shop with a smashed windshield in front of the driver. The odometer read just shy of 60k and looked to be in great condition inside and out. I simply had to have this car! These are not the most common cars you know and prior to this one the few I had seen were in bad shape and for this one to show up when, where and how it did was a miracle to me.
Needless to say I have a special fondness for these cars and to all the other owners and admirers out there who do as well... Cheers!!! "
