Bart Orlans'
1976 Pontiac LeMans
sport coupe
This is
Bart Orlans' ride.
Bart tells us...
"
Here is a picture of our 1976 Pontiac Lemans Sport Coupe. It is a very rare beast as it is one of only 19 manual transmission cars built that year. It still has its original Oldsmobile 260 V8, but the factory installed T-50 5-speed was long gone when we bought it on E-bay. It is now running a Saginaw 4-speed.
The previous owner replaced the transmission crossmember with a double-hump unit and ran full dual exhaust. The car came from the factory with the rally suspension, louvered opera windows, bucket seats (with no console), A/C, Rally II wheels, and several other small options which where borne out by Pontiac Historic Services. (story continued below picture...)

It is in need of a bit of TLC, but it is coming along. When we bought it, we had to fly down to Florida, and drive it back to our home in New Jersey. It made the 1400 mile trip with no troubles at all, and it even got over 20 mpg. The car was filthy when we picked it up, and we weren't sure we'd make it home, but it runs like a top and is a real blast to drive.
Thanks for posting our pictures.
Sincerely,
Bart R. Orlans "
