Kelly Graves'
1976 Pontiac LeMans sport coupe

"
Hey ya Pete!! First off, Happy A-Body Site's 6th Birthday! It
is and has always been a great site. Thanks a million
for the work that goes into it.
Here's the only pic I
have of my 1976 Lemans Sport Coupe. (Sorry 'bout the
quality, junky scanner.) I was still in high school,
driving a 74 LeMans SC, when a fellow in my school
came into town (Franklin, KY) driving this Imron
silver metal-flake beauty and I flat fell in love with
it. I tried to buy it that day, but he wouldn't even
discuss it. A few years and a few cars later, I saw
it on a local lot and traded my 77 Honda Civic + $1500
within the hour. Talk about trading up!!
It still
had the original 350 Pontiac w/2 barrell and TH-350.
There was an old timeslip in the console that said
10.08, not bad for a 100,000 mile engine. I kept the
350 till it jumped time, then swapped in a .060 over
400, Quadra-Jet, and a big ol' lumpy cam. Talk about
howlin like a wild Indian!!. (story continued below picture...)

I think I put 4 (FOUR)
TH350s in it till I found a TH400. I never raced the
car at a track, but a buddy and I did turn 6250 rpm in
Drive on the interstate! The car got traded for a
motorcycle in the eighties, but I recently saw it in
the local Wal-Mart parking lot. It was the same car
but man she had been rode hard and put up wet A LOT it
looked like.
If I catch it again, not only will I try
to buy it, but it might qualify for the Graveyard. I
always loved the twin vortexes the car made behind it
when I drove it in the rain.
Anyway, thanks again for
the site, keep up the good
work, & keep the faith!!
