David H. Brown's
1976 Pontiac LeMans sport coupe
David H. Brown will tell us more...
" Hey there; My ride, purchased from a little old lady in Fairfield, CT is a1976 LeMans Sport Coupe. My brother-in-law is Bruce Middlemass, who's aPontiac nut & has his LeMans and GTO in your Reader's Ride section.
He was scopingout this blue beauty every time he was in the neighborhood. He happened to goby one day & noticed that there was no plate on it. He pulled a U-turn,knocked on the old woman's door & asked if it was for sale. She said that shehad just purchased a new car & was looking to "get rid of it". Bruce knew Ineeded a car, so he put up the $200 to get it. It was in great condition.
Engine is stock & had 73,000 original miles on it. No problems with it.Interior is nice with just a slight tear in drivers side seat, mint headliner, fading minimal as it was garaged for most of it's life. It was in an accident once which required the drivers door to be replaced & eventually realigned.

Thetrunk area is MINT!! She still has the original spare & her little granny blanketspread out ... no leaks, rubber uncracked, no rot along back window, etc ...
Have put Bondo on quarterpanels, bottom of doors. Needs muffler work, mostlikely nothing major, but besides that & some minor rust, this baby is sweet!
Plans include installing rear sway bar, finishing Bondo/paint work, droppingin a 400 engine and possibly a Turbo 400 tranny, sport mirrors, Qualifier tires and a good soundsystem.
My 14-year old is now drooling, because Bruce told him that I wasgiving it to him when he turns 16 ....
FAT CHANCE KID! HAHAHAHA!!!
Later, thanx! David H. Brown, Stratford, CT. Age: 37
P.S. Forgot to mention that I learned to drive in a '68 Catalina wagon w/ a 400,nicknamed the "Blue Mule". Man, you couldn't kill that thing! "
