1974 LeMans
Jason Freer of

" Hello Peter,
I have been a regular visitor to your site for the past couple of years, anda thought I would finally send you in a picture and anote about my 74 lemans.
I purchased this car in Edmonton in December of 99 with 75000 miles. The purchase price was$1000. It was ugly as sin when I bought it. The pastel blue interior was absolutely trashed. It had the grandpa hubcaps, and aterrible white pinstriping job that outlined every curve, line, and moulding. Which by the way I peeled off before I drove it home.Yes, it was that bad.
Since then I have spent quite a bit of time and money altering this, and upgrading that. I have replaced and or rebuilt all ofthe front suspension, the rear springs and brakes. The original column shifted automatic has been replaced by a T-10 4speed and pedals from a 74 grand am. The interior is now a bright white. All the trim was removed and re-colored.

The seatshave been recovered (it is a bench seat). The door panels and dash were dyed, and the carpet has been replaced with new.(yes, it is all very difficult to keep clean, but looks sweet).
The engine is the stock 350 chevy with the exception of anedelbrock intake and carb. I also converted it to HEI, and added the dual exhaust. I had to put the Weld draglites on the caras well.
The paint is original, and is badly faded, but looks good from 50 feet. Plans are to repaint soon, and I do have all newweatherstriping for the occasion. The picture shown was taken after a 3400 km drive to Ontario in the summer of 2000. The car worked great and gaveme between 28 and 32mpg the whole trip.
I'll send you a note with any new updates, and some pictures.
