Steven Stewart's 1973 Pontiac Lemans
Here's
Steven Stewart's 1973 Pontiac Lemans
Steven says
"This is my 1973 Pontiac LeMans, it was my 16th birthday present from
my parents who bought it from the original owner in 1984, The original
owner left her plates and insurance on it so I could take it for a drive
before I started getting it ready for a safety check (needed lots).
(note from Sitemaster: this photo was received with a big reflection on it. I took 30 seconds and did what I could)

Bad
mistake, giving a 16yr old a car with a 350 and built like a tank with
all the snot I needed at the time. It had big snow tires on it and they
had a very distinct smell while smoking them, (every light). Took it to
school (high school) the next day and some of my older buddies said lets
skip and get a case of beer, Hmmmmm ok.

I remember the case of beer but not the Bar afterwards or driving them
home that night.
Woke up in my room with my parents banging on my door yelling the Police
are here for you, went upstairs hung big time and asked where my case
was (didn't know where i left it)
To make a long story short, guess I passed a jogger on the way home
figured I knew him, slammed on the brakes and smoked the tires in
reverse back to him. Guess he thought I was trying to run him over
(maybe I was, still don't remember) and he got my plate # and called the
cops. the got a hold of the original owner and she sent them to me.
So I was grounded from my first car for two years, just enough time to
restore it!

It had a 350 but as I got older I thought bigger was better! so bought
a olds mobile delta 88 with a 455b/b and threw it in with the olds
tranny, turbo400??. I could pass anything but the gas stations, and burn
outs (one wheel peel) in all three gears, no brake. To this day that 455
olds still runs great! At present I am restoring it again and am
considering black color. By the way any 73 rear crome bumpers around??

That is me and my LeMans, story..and I will never part with this car.
But will find a 73 G.T.O. to park beside it to keep it company. "
