Brett Bonos'
1973 Pontiac LeMans coupe

Brett Bonos tells us...

" I bough this car for $300 four years ago. The thing was a mess. It had a wrecked passenger side door, fender and part of the body onthe quarter panel. Other than that actually in pretty good shape. I live in western PA. So anyone who lives on the eastcoast knowswhat I'm talking about. The rust was minimal for a PA. car, so I worked for 4 years to get the body back in shape without breaking thebank.

The car has a 455 4barrel. I have 4 pontiacs including a 72 GTO 455 H.O. a 74 Ventura with a 350 4 barrel. and another 73LeMans sport coupe.

This white one is by far my favorite. It has a 3-speed manual tranny that came original in the car and is really rare. It originallyhad a 350 motor but I sort of collect 455s. So when the 350 started to wear out at 230,000 miles I figured I'd throw in a 455 and storethe 350. The car has ram air 3 exhaust manifolds, 2.5 inch duals that exit in the same place as the factory. I think I'm the only one in thistown with a 73 LeMans.

I found a whole junkyard full of these cars and scavenged almost every part that could be removed with handtools. In fact the other 73 sport coupe was in the junkyard with a bad frame!! The body was perfect. I bought the car and did the frame workon it in the past two winters!!

Now I'm going to let my daughter drive it to school for her senior year. I'll send some pictures of all ofthem when I get more time at home.

Hey, you have a great site here Pete and you should be proud of all the hard work you do on it. I'm very happy to own some of these often overlooked cars.
