William Stoddard's
1973 GTO

Here's William Stoddard's 1973 Pontiac GTO.

William says

" Well I picked her up from a guy in AZ when I was down there for mybuddy's wedding in Phoenix. My wife and i went out sight-seeing thru ApacheJunction and out of the corner of my eye I spied this black beauty justsitting in a fenced yard.

I pulled into the parking lot of this businessand looked over the car from a distance (couldn't see much) thinking nothingof it I walked back to get into my rental car and continue site seeing. Just thenthe owner pulls up from getting lunch, we have a small conversation, I wentout back looked the car over up close in and out then asked him to put aprice tag on her because I'm interested in liberating her from certain doom. He tells me $1000 and its mine. We shake hands and make the deal.

When I gotback to MN I call a few auto carriers and got a good deal to bring her homein 3 weeks. She was delivered to me and i took inventory of what was neededand what was original. Also had Sean Mattingly from "www.ultimategto.com/" decode the VIN for me.

He tells me she's the real McCoy 400cid 4BBL 3speed. Manual brakes-steering. You know, just the basics HO engine and badgeson a LeMans and one hell of a good rebuild on the engine, 12.70 at 110mph.

After this season is over its going under the knife for a face lift andpaint. Motor going in for the Edelbrock 422 hp package and this old goat willbe bottle fed. So if anybody has parts/options (gto or sport coupe) in goodcondition for interior just e-mail me WSTODDARD@mn.rr.com "
